Let’s celebrate all women with fun events around town

It’s International Women’s Day tomorrow, and in Tel Aviv the party starts early with loads of great events around town today – including special film screenings @ Ennis Center, a concert by the amazing Jasmin Moallem, and parties at Radio EPGB and Jimmy Who!. Meet Citrus & Salt tonight at a special women’s only pasta making class

International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the amazing Citrus & Salt, a Tel Aviv women-owned business started by American immigrants Aliya Fastman and Shaendl Davis. As well as offering lots of cool cooking classes with Israeli and International cuisines (check out our video review), they also set up an emergency war kitchen and have prepared thousands of meals for soldiers and displaced families. Thank you for everything you do for the community! Our favourite like music venue The Barby has an incredible line-up of local favourites this week! Assaf Amdursky kicks things off tonight with a 30th anniversary party. Tomorrow afternoon, catch super rap trio Arutz Hakibud. On Saturday, indie pop band Lola Marsh takes the stage. Next week don’t miss: Cat in a Sack – super classico show with a secret line up (Sunday); pop star Nunu (Monday); rock band Knesiyat Hasechel in a one-time evening with artists from Otef (Tuesday); legendary Eric Berman (Wednesday); alternative rock band Eifo Hayeled (Next Thursday); and folk legend Atar Mayner (next Saturday). Saturday: Funny, surprising, provocative poetry battle is back!

The Grand Slam Final returns to Reading 3 on Saturday! After six exciting qualifying events across the country, six female and male poets will take the stage and perform funny, surprising, and provoking texts. At the end of the night, the audience will vote on which poet will win the golden microphone and represent Israel at the international championship! Sunday: American comedian is back with one night show @ Beit HaHayal

One of America’s favorite stand-up comedians Elon Gold is coming to Israel for a special show at Beit HaHayal on Sunday night! Gold made regular appearances on the last season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, had a feature role in the show Stacked alongside Pamela Anderson, as well as his own Netflix comedy special Chosen and Taken. Join PFI’s Beach Cleanup next Friday at Namal Tel Aviv to clean the beach, raise awareness about plastic pollution in oceans, and meet amazing people.
