Welcome back to Secret Tel Aviv’s Guide to the Best Restaurants in Tel Aviv! This guide is one of our favourites – we’ve gone back to the community via our new Secret Tel Aviv App, and asked you guys what are your favourite bars and restaurants in the city. The result is beautiful – it’s not necessarily the list of best chef restaurants or the most exclusive food – it’s more a guide to where the locals are eating – good food, good value, good atmosphere! And we couldn’t agree with it more!

This guide was last updated at the end of June 2026. Your votes could shape the next guide – list your five favourite restaurants in the Secret Tel Aviv App – and at the same time unlock loads of cool deals and features.

1. Teder / Beit Romano – Best Hangout Spot 🥇

Derech Jaffa 9 | Pizza | Bar | Street Food

14258178_1219829148070002_2786240348389985223_o

Tel Aviv’s favourite hangout spot. We weren’t sure whether to include this because Teder is clearly more of a bar than a restaurant, but their pizza is soooo good! And there are loads of fun places to eat within the Beit Romano complex like Eyal Shani’s Romano restaurant upstairs and his delicious Cassata ice-cream round the back. Good food, good value, amazing atmosphere – it’s easy to see why this is number one! Check out Teder/ Beit Romano on our app and website for more info.

2. Cafe Xoho – Best Breakfast, Best Kosher Spot, Best Bagels – this place has too many awards! 🥯

Ben Yehuda St 73 | Cafe | Breakfast | Kosher

Founded by Olim Chadashim (new immigrants) in 2014, Cafe Xoho has grown into more than just a restaurant – it’s a whole community ecosystem for internationals in the city. Their all-day breakfasts feel like home, the food is healthy and delicious, their bagels and breads are baked in-house, and they employ mainly internationals who speak English and are always friendly! They also have a special deal in Secret Tel Aviv Deals – get 10% off your bill – create an account and list your five favourite restaurants and bars to unlock the deal! Check out Cafe Xoho on our app and website for more info.

3. Nam – Tel Aviv’s Go To Quick Fix 😋

Dizengoff St 275 and King George St 84 | Thai

Nam has two locations in the city – one near the Namal and on near the Dizengoff Center – but what they are really famous for is their deliveries. If you’re looking for a quick fix for lunch or dinner, you can be sure there will be something delicious for everyone – with amazing Thai curries, noodles, friend chicken – and great options for kids! Delivery is usually fast and the portions are pretty large. If you want to eat in their restaurant, a heads up that their King George branch is more of a self-service, quick-lunch spot, while the original near the Namal is better for a proper sit-down dinner with cocktails, but it’s almost always packed so definitely book a table! Check out Nam on our app and website for more info.

4. HaTaco – Best Street Food in Tel Aviv 🌮

HaShomer St 1 | Mexican | Street Food

Hidden away in Shuk HaCarmel, HaTaco is a tiny stand that’s easy to miss, but it’s a true “if you know, you know” gem. The menu is about as simple as it gets – usually just two or three types of tacos – but they are made to perfection every time. We always go for the beef, but the bean option is just as good if you’re looking for something vegetarian. Don’t forget to ask for extra lime and check the counter for their house-made hot sauces. Check out HaTaco on our app and website for more info.

5. HaAchim – Local Favorite! 🙌

Shlomo Ibn Gabirol St 26 | Israeli | Breakfast

HaAchim is another restaurant on this list that is more than just a restaurant – but a community hub! Located on Ibn Gvirol next to ZOA House, people come for the amazing food, and stay for the inspiring meetups and talks the restaurant regularly hosts. The breakfast spread comes as an endless flow of small plates: salads, labneh, cheeses, and roasted vegetables, all constantly refilled. Come evening, the same relaxed, shareable vibe continues, with dishes that work perfectly for a casual dinner out with friends. The outdoor patio is perfect for people-watching, although it’s almost always packed. Check out HaAchim on our app and website for more info.

6. Jasmino – Best Kebab in Tel Aviv 🥙

Allenby St 99 | Kebab | Street Food

If you’re walking down Allenby and see a massive crowd standing on the sidewalk, they’re probably waiting for Jasmino. There’s almost always a line, but it moves fast, and watching them grill everything over charcoal is part of the experience. We usually go for the lamb and veal kebab or the spicy beef sausage. They keep the toppings simple – grilled onions, some salad, and a lot of tehina and amba – but the way the pita soaking up all the fat and charcoal flavor is what makes it. Trust us, the wait is well worth it! Check out Jasmino on our app and website for more info.

7. Moon Sushi – Best Sushi in Tel Aviv 🍣

Bograshov St 58 | Sushi

Another Tel Aviv institution, Moon Sushi has been around forever on Bograshov and is consistently good, which is rare for sushi in this city. They serve good quality sushi without all the frills of a chef restaurant, and its a great spot date-night spot. Sitting at the bar is the best way to do it so you can watch the chefs work at lightning speed while you split a few specialty rolls. Check out Moon Sushi on our app and website for more info.

8. Pizza Lila – Best Pizza in Tel Aviv 🍕

Nafha 3, Shenkin (the original Merkhavya St 4 branch is under reconstruction) | Pizza | Street Food

Since opening in 2018, Pizza Lila quickly became a local favourite – known for its thin, chewy sourdough crust and toppings that go way beyond the usual (bacon and maple, spicy salami), next to salads and pastas that are just as good. Sadly, back in April, the building next door collapsed and badly damaged the original spot in Levinsky Market– but instead of going quiet, the owners fast-tracked a second location they’d already been building on Shenkin, turning what was meant to be a future bistro into an instant pop-up. That spot’s now a proper second home for the pizza while Levinsky works its way back. Either way, same great bite, and now twice the odds of snagging a table! Check out Pizza Lila on our app and website for more info.

9. HaKosem – Best Falafel in Tel Aviv 🧆

Shlomo HaMelekh St 1 | Falafel | Street Food | Kosher

They don’t call HaKosem “The Magician” for nothing – this is the falafel and shawarma that’s been setting the standard for over two decades. The queue snakes down Shlomo HaMelekh next to the Dizengoff Center most days, but it moves fast and the staff has the routine down to a science. Order the pita and let them load it up, or go for the plate if you want the full spread – the slow-cooked rice and fried eggplant are just as worth it as the falafel itself. Shawarma and schnitzel are solid backups if you’re not in a chickpea mood, and if you were wondering, yes, it’s all kosher! Check out HaKosem on our app and website for more info.

10. GDB – Best Burger in Tel Aviv 🍔

Shlomo Ibn Gabirol St 22 | Burgers

We bet you’ve seen those insane burgers with the black top bun aka the Rabbi Bun – that’s what GDB is known for! It’s not as scary as it looks, just a black garlic brioche bun, so don’t worry, you can still go on a date right after (or during). We recommend going for the combo – burger with a side of fries or a caesar salad piled with a ridiculous amount of cheese, in the best way. To have the full experience wait for the outdoor table! There’s a second branch in Maoz Aviv if you want to skip the central caos, though the original on Ibn Gabirol is our favorite. Check out GDB Burger on our app and website for more info.
