Tonight: Georgian Folk Music internet sensations perform at the Barby

Get ready for one of the most unique concerts of the year! Tonight Trio Mandili are coming to the Barby to transport you to the mountains of Georgia with their beautiful voices and traditional instruments. During lockdown the trio went viral with a video of them singing a traditional Georgian song while accompanied by a baby donkey – propelling them to international fame. The Unite in Babylon Singing Circle is back at Rabin Square! Tonight: Party the night away with Brazilian music and dancing

Ala Rampa is throwing their monthly Forró party – a Brazilian dance known for its infectious energy and fun atmosphere. It’s a great way to get moving and have some fun with friends. The party will start with an introductory class for beginners, so you can learn the basic steps and get your body moving. Tuesday: Film about a man who refused to be silenced

On Tuesday Cinematheque will be screening the documentary Navalny, which tells the story of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. He was poisoned with a nerve agent in 2020, but survived and returned to Russia to continue his fight against corruption. The film Navalny follows his story as he investigates his own poisoning and exposes the underbelly of the Russian politics. Wednesday: Free outdoor screening of cult classic at Gan HaPisga in Jaffa

A perfect way to cool off on a hot summer night is to join the Summer Movie Nights in Old Jaffa. Every Wednesday, they will play a classic film on a huge screen under the stars. This week grab your bathrobes, bowling shoes, and a White Russian (optional but highly recommended) for the Coen brothers’ timeless classic The Big Lebowski. Wednesday: Learn about the best underground art spaces in the city

The amazing Dasha Ilyashenko hosts a special talk on Wednesday in English about some of the best alternative art spaces in the city – galleries you find in bars, hidden event spaces, art party lines, and under-the-radar initiatives at the Alternative Art and Culture Meetup. Wednesday: Israel U21s Reach Semi-finals of European Championship

For the first time ever, the Israel U21s have reached the semi-finals of the European U21s Championship! They will take on either England or Portugal on Wednesday night, and the game will be shown on Israeli TV channels and bars throughout the city. This is a historic moment for Israeli football, and the whole country is behind the team. Come on Israel! More details here.

Saturday: Non-Stop Dancing afternoon party at Teder

Jah Screechy, one of the most iconic names in reggae music, is coming to Tel Aviv for an afternoon party at Teder on Saturday. The legendary artist, who has been making music for over 40 years, will be joined by a special lineup of local reggae artists for a day of non-stop dancing and chilling. It’s a great week for live local music! On Tuesday the legendary Kutiman takes over the Barby with his funky beats; also on Tuesday up-and-coming hip-hop queen Jasmin Moallem debuts her new album at Hangar 11. On Wednesday Levontin 7 hosts the Oud Festival – a celebration of the traditional Middle Eastern stringed instrument. On Thursday pop duo Carakukly perform in the free weekly Mozaika Festival at Kedumin Square Jaffa. Find more concerts on the Secret Tel Aviv website!

RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK 🇫🇷

A Taste of French Elegance in Tel Aviv at new L’Epoque restaurant

Last week we checked out the new L’Epoque by Robuchon Restaurant in Tel Aviv and it was Magnifique. The restaurant is located in the luxurious Elkonin Hotel MGallery (an official sponsor of the Secret Tel Aviv Community) in Neve Tzedek, and it offers a truly unique dining experience. The restaurant is part of the Robuchon Group, inspired by Joel Robuchon – holder of the most Michelin stars (32 in total!). The menu provides French sophistication with a twist of Mediterranean spices, with plates such as crispy poached eggs topped with caviar and our favorite the beef burger with foie gras. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Robuchon restaurant without the famous mashed potatoes, which is worth all the hype. Read our review here and check out our video on Instagram.

The Best of Dance from Around the World @ The Suzanne Delal Center

The Tel Aviv Dance Festival is back at Suzanne Dellal Centre from 18 July to 3 August. This year’s festival celebrates the diversity and richness of cultures and identities through a variety of international and local dance performances. The festival’s workshops and panel discussions provide opportunities for dance lovers to learn from each other and share their passion for dance. Big announcements this week from Midburn and InDNegev

Over the last week there have announcements from two of our favourite festivals. Midburn, a five-day festival inspired by the Burning Man, will take place this year from November 6th-11th; and Israel’s top music festival IndNegev announced an amazing lineup including Kutiman, Boom Pam, Red Axes, and Efrat Gosh (the festival will take place during October 12th-14th).
