Catch the best hip-hop concerts by local stars this week

New year, new music, new vibes! The first week of 5784 is bringing the heat with some of the hottest concerts in Tel Aviv! Tomorrow Barby will be lit up by local star Teddy Neguse. On Wednesday, head to Jaffa Port for a free concert by Balkan Beat Box. On Thursday, Sha’anan Streett brings his unique brand of folk-pop to Neve Shanan. Get into the playa vibes with parties by the coolest camps

The return of Midburn is near, but the parties are here! Camps are an essential part of Midburn, and it’s tradition that they throw awesome parties in the weeks before the big event to raise money, meet amazing people, and get wild. Starting Thursday, party with infamous Pony Riders @ Panorama House; shake things up with Camp Shake it; or get out of the city for 3 days of sun, music, and chill at the beach with the Kof-X Midburn Camp @ Ashekelon Beach. The Day of the Bisexuality is coming to the Tel Aviv LGBTQ Center on Thursday, September 21. Friday: Join Plastic Free Israel to tidy the beaches

Clean the beach, raise awareness, and meet amazing people this Friday at PFI’s BeachCleanup at TLV Namal beach, where the Yarkon river meets the sea. This is especially important during the upcoming winter, when trash accumulated along the river during the summer is carried all the way to the estuary with the increasing flow of water. Remember to bring your hats, water bottles, and sun protection – they’ll bring the rest! This event will explore the boundaries and areas of overlap between art and citizenship, the home and the street, as sites of active resistance and creation. Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year, is a time for Jews all over the world to fast, pray, and reflect on their actions of the previous year.
