The Truman Show
USA (1998)
Truman (Jim Carrey) is an average American with all the extras – a smiling wife, kind neighbors, a clerical job, a small house in a dreamy town, etc. He doesn’t know it, but everything in Truman’s life is a set in a television show in which he is the main character. Little by little, suspicions arise in him and he gradually discovers the truth, he must decide how to act. A rare comedic film that raises questions about communication and reality.

טרומן (ג’ים קארי) הוא אמריקאי ממוצע עם כל התוספות – אישה חייכנית, שכנים אדיבים, משרה פקידותית, בית קטן בעיירה חלומית וכו’. הוא לא יודע את זה, אבל הכל בחייו של טרומן הוא תפאורה בתוכנית טלוויזיה שהוא הגיבור הראשי שלה. לאט לאט צצים אצלו חשדות והוא מגלה את בהדרגה את האמת, הוא חייב להחליט כיצד יפעל. יצירת קולנוע קומית נדירה שמעוררת שאלות על תקשורת ומציאות.
