Laila Lavan is one of only three nights in the year year where you can crank up the volume on your music all night – the others are Yom Haatzmaut and Purim. People disagree about the origin of the name… some say it is to mark UNESCO’s awarding of World Heritage status to the White City in 2003, others say it is a reference to a white night in the army where you stay up all night. Alas, I think the first one is correct, but the second is a lot more fun!

Wednesday Night (the day before Laila Levan) – Diner en Blanc @ Secret Location

Bringing the sophistication of France to our White City for the second year, Diner en Blanc is a special dinner in a mystery location. Everyone has to wear white, and bring their own tables, chairs, and picnics for a beautiful huge feast. 49 NIS.



6pm: Tel Aviv Museum of Art – Awesome art exhibition taking place on Thursday evening. A wide variety of artwork will be on display for all to enjoy! 25 NIS.


6.30: Disney Songs In Hebrew @ Kiryat Sefer Garden – Are you keen to hear all your favorite Disney numbers with an Israeli twist? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The child in me is freaking out right now. Be there, or be square.


7pm: InDNegev Indie Live @ Rothschild 42 (bank plaza) – this is the night we’ve all been waiting for… so don’t burn yourself out too early! Slowly ease your way into this epic evening with some light indie rock performances. Excellent Hebrew music guaranteed! Free!

Shmemel – This band will bring you back to the days before partying and dancing meant listening to a computer. Feel the genuine vibrations of these irresistible performers.

Ketem Paz – These guys combine spirituality and artistic expression in the most original way possible. With lyrics taken straight from the holy texts, their dub/reggae vibe will have you bumping and getting closer to G-d all at the same time!

Sangit Segal – Come enjoy the raw musical talent of this multi-genre performer. From hip-hop to funk, his vast array of styles will serve to sate all your different musical desires.

ChuvA – A young, lively band that’s been around the world and back. These guys have a real charm to them. If you like indie-rock, this one is must.

7pm: Rock Garden Summit @ Summit Park – Concert featuring multiple marvellous artists in our great Summit Park.


7pm: Holy Lindy Land Swing Dance Party @ Habima – Come to fill your ears up with superb jazzy goodness. Then, at around 8:00, prepare for Holy Lindy Land’s dance swinging dance vibes. It’s going to be a seriously fun party!


7pm: Greek Night @ Wineberg Wine & Tapas Bar – Party it up like a Hellenistic god or goddess at this awesome event! Enjoy Greek food, Greek music, and all-around Greek vibes!


8pm: A Really Quiet Headphones Party @ Kikar Rabin – Honestly, I can’t imagine anything more awesome than this. It’s a completely silent rage-fest! Come equipped with a smartphone and a pair of headphones, or rent a pair on the spot! Tune in to Radio Tel Aviv 102 via their app, and dance like there’s no one watching (even though everyone will be watching as you dance in silence.) This seems like a load of fun guys, seriously. How often do you get to do this? Do yourselves a favor, and check it out!


8pm: Street Party @ Kupichka – Flood the streets this Thursday and enjoy a borderless party experience.


8pm: ‘We Love Florentine’ Art Extravaganza – Super-cool exhibitions by artists, painters, and photographers, and sculptors. Free.


8pm: Pop-Up Park @ The Central Bus Station – Artists and musicians inaugurate ‘Hashalechet’ park at the foot of the Central Bus Station – with workshops, performances, music shows, rappelling from the roof and all around fun underscored by art and urban activism.


8pm: Gulaza @ Kiryat Sefer Garden – Poetry written by women from one of the most war torn regions in the Middle East: Yemen. Combine the works of these wordsmiths with guitars, cello, African string instruments, and percussions, and you’ve got a truly inspiring and mesmerizing musical experience.


8pm: The Execution of Clown X @ Bialick Square – a huge circus performance telling the story of the execution of Clown X… will he survive?


8.30pm: The Istanbul Connection @ The Barby

We all know that Tel Aviv is one of the best cities in the world. Well, come celebrate plurality and openness on Thursday as our city pays its respects to another amazing, world-class metropolis: Istanbul! Party as one big middle-eastern collective and feel the love at this amazing celebration. Featuring Turkish, and Israeli artists, as well as DJs Mixmaster and Schoolmaster. Music truly does connect us all!

BaBa ZuLa – Relish in the pure originality of this mesmerizing group as they draw your attention with belly dancers, elaborate costumes, poetry, theatre, and live drawing. This is a performance you won’t want to miss!

Boom Pam – Mediterranean Surf Rock music played by homegrown Tel Avivis? Yes please!

8.30pm: Hallelujah Tribute to Leonard Cohen @ The Israeli Opera House Plaza

Come enjoy the songwriting genius of Leonard Cohen through the contemporary talent of Sivan Talmor, Ari Gorali, and Gal Nisman. The beautiful harmonies produced by these three musicians are unparalleled.


8.30pm: Bezalel Academy Of Art: Video Art Exhibition @ Nemal Yafo – Really interesting art exhibition dealing with the increasing prevalence of technology in our lives, and the dawn of the “screen age.”


8.30: Movie Picnic @ Little Italy – Ever watched a movie outside? Well, now you can! Enjoy some timeless classics while sprawled out on a picnic blanket.


9pm: WOLFPACK @ Clara – Get ready to bump until 6am with this awesome event! Line-up: Jenia Tarsol, Braindead, and WOLFPACK.


9pm: Marina Tel Aviv @ Coconuts Tiki Bar – Party in style at one of the most beautiful venues in Tel Aviv. Featuring DJ High Guy. Free entrance.


9pm: White Picnic Party @ Pastel –A laid-back picnic party where you can embrace your sleepy side, and party for White Night all at the same time!


9pm: Boston Gay Men’s Chorus @ Suzanne Dellal – Aside from being an extremely talented choir, this group is renowned for its diplomatic efforts within the region. BGMC constantly promotes peace and love through their music, and through their actions. During their two-week stay in Israel, they will be meeting with groups and artists of all faiths and nationalities. Proceeds from the concert will be going towards local LGBT groups. But lets put all that amazing stuff aside for a moment, and simply enjoy their truly epic vocal and instrumental performance!


9pm: Singalong in Neve Tzedek – Smith 4 Play lead the singing with Hebrew and Engish classics. 5 NIS donation.


9.30pm: Liron Amram And The Panthers @ Kiryat Sefer Garden – Come bask in the glory of this Yemenite and Israeli musical fusion. Different Middle Eastern vibes come together to make truly beautiful artwork.

11.30pm: Tribute to the Israeli Fringe @Levontin 7 – Been missing some of the Israeli oldies lately? Looking to feel some good old nostalgia? Come and listen to 10 different indie bands as they perform covers from some of your bygone favorites. Each artist will also perform originals to contrast the old Israeli style with the new. Take a musical tour-through-time with this awesome and interesting event.


12am: HaOman 17 – Two-stage party with a HUGE line-up of talented DJs. Starts at midnight until the early hours! 20 NIS. 35 NIS after 1:30.


12am: White Night at the Opera – Scores of soloists perform highlights from popular operas and musicals as well as a few Israeli songs. Three hours (from midnight to 3 am) of musical delights and surprise on the opera stage. 65 NIS.

Friday 12pm: Beer, Beach and Rock ‘n’ Roll @ Clara – rock music, air guitar contests, jukebox, surfing ride, alcohol and beautiful people. 40 NIS. Feeling pimp, book a table here.
