Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, have a unique first date, or have an awesome yom kef, there are loads of awesome cooking studios in Tel Aviv… (this article only covers one-off classes, not long-term cooking courses). Classes typically cost between 180-300 NIS per person, which includes eating the food afterwards, and in some cases lots of wine.
The Cooking Schools
Ben Avigdor 19 | Group Classes (in Hebrew) and Private Classes (in English and Hebrew) | KOSHER
This fun kosher cooking studio is great for beginners, corporate events or if you are just looking for a fun activity! They have many different workshops available, including Asian, Italian, Mexican, sushi, health food, and lots more. We tried the Indian Cooking course and it was great!
Each workshop lasts for 3 hours of learning about the cuisine and ingredients you are going to use, prepping and cooking, followed by the best part… eating! They also offer wine and cocktail workshops, organise cooking battles, culinary tours, bachelorette parties and other fun food related cool stuff!

Part of the Dan Hotels Chain, Dan Gourmet offers both one-off classes and more specialised courses. There are a wide variety of classes to choose from (Asian, Italian, Pastries, Who’s Afraid of Fish?), mostly done in the evenings in Hebrew. There are also a couple of courses available in English for those wanting take a little bit of Israel home with them: Traditional Jewish Cooking and Traditional Israeli Cooking.

So we know this isn’t really cooking – but nothing goes better with a good meal than a delicious cocktail!
Israel’s top bartending school, Zman Amiti offers both basic 2-hour classes, and more advanced 6 week masterclasses – they have just launched a new masterclass called ‘Mixing with the Best’ (we love the name) with the managers from many of Tel Aviv’s best cocktail bars. For the basic classes, they have 2 classes a month for anyone to join (in Hebrew), or you can schedule a group class of at least 10 people – perfect for a yom kef (in English and Hebrew).
Eduard Bernstein St 9 | Group Classes (in Hebrew and English)
If you are looking for something really special, check out Phyllis’ workshops – she typically runs 1-2 a month in the intimate setting of her home in Tel Aviv. Phyllis runs two classes – vegan cooking and gluten-free cooking – followed by a delicious feast. The workshops are in Hebrew, but Phyllis is American-born so can easily switch between the two languages.

Chef Shahaf Bendekar invites you to experience delicious home-made Indian food. Shahaf offers classes at established cooking schools (for example Dan Gourmet), at his home, or even in the comfort of your own home. Learn how to make delicious Indian food… and then get to eat it afterwards!

Kristóf Steiner’s vegan pop-up dinners and home restaurant events gained worldwide fame after london based blogger The Fat Vegan dedicated a post to the Hungaran born Tel Avivian foodie, and locals love it thanks to such popular publications as TivonEat blog or Al HaSulchan food magazine. Kristóf provides as personal chef as well, works “veganizing” menus, and plans vegan weddings, and you can request a personal cooking class or course with him – at the comfort of your home, or at the boutique guest house and art space he runs together with his life partner Nimrod Dagan. Through these courses you’ll learn the basics of plant based cooking, get to know how to prepare a 4 dishes dinner in just 90 minutes, and you’ll find a new, creative passion towards easygoing gastronomy – no fuss, more flavours, and even more fun.
