Bourekas Shel Aba

Bourekas as good as these deserve to be shared with the world – no matter how much we want to keep this secret spot to ourselves. You can find Bourekas Shel Aba on the streets neighboring Levinsky Market in Florentin. It is a small establishment, but the flavor of these flakey delicacies are anything but. Originally established in 1970, the owner still uses his Safta’s recipe.  The filling options are endless; cheese, potato, spinach, onion, mushroom and so forth. It’s a no brainer to add a hardboiled egg and a wealth of homemade chili sauce. He does have sweets in addition to his savory goodies, and also makes mini versions in case you aren’t quite that hungry but they’re still just as delicious as the real deal. If you go on a Friday, make sure you make it there early enough before the line starts wrapping around the corner!
