HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🍎🍯

Check out our Guide for communal dinners, parties and traditions in Tel Aviv

Rosh Hashanah starts this Friday night, and Tel Aviv has plenty of ways to celebrate – from community dinners and big holiday parties to shofar blowing, Tashlich by the sea, live music and last-minute gifts. We’ve rounded everything up in our Rosh Hashanah in Tel Aviv Guide, or just keep scrolling for our top picks. Shana Tova from Secret Tel Aviv!

NEW YEARS EVE, TLV STYLE 🪩

Tonight: We’re going all out for one last massive night before Rosh Hashana

Before the city switches into chag mode, there’s one very stacked night to get through. Decision Festival takes over Gagarin with Vini Vici, Astrix and three rooms of trance, techno and mainstream. SoulTrain throws a 70s disco takeover at Bavel – sequins strongly encouraged – while Santa’s Village brings indie and melodic techno to 4tress. Electric Dreams brings the 80s back to Radio EPGB with Madonna, Duran Duran and original classics all night, and Duo #3 at Beit Radical does something completely different – techno beats meet live opera. 👉 For daily event updates, join our Secret Tel Aviv WhatsApp Group (also in Hebrew).

READY. SET. DATE! 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

Tonight: Tel Aviv’s Singles Run takes over the tayelet

Tel Aviv’s Singles Run is back tonight starting at Migdalor, with 5K and 10K beach routes, dating zones, activity areas and Omri Smadar and Adam Ten live after the finish line. It’s part run, part party, part very Tel Aviv way to meet someone new – come for the run and see who keeps pace. 👉 Find more info and more fun events on the Secret Tel Aviv App!

HOLIDAY DINNERS 🍎

Friday-Saturday: Rosh Hashanah meals with food, wine, and great company

Still looking for somewhere to celebrate Rosh Hashanah? Tel Aviv has community dinners across the city, including elegant gala meals on both nights at Tel Aviv International Synagogue, young olim dinners with Tribe Tel Aviv, warm Chabad meals at Chabad on the Coast and Chabad Tel Aviv, a first-night LGBTQ+ community dinner at The LGBTQ Center in Gan Meir, plus a second-night dinner at Ben Yehuda 126. Whether you’re new in town, looking for a meaningful dinner, or just don’t want to do the chag alone, there’s a seat somewhere with your name on it. 👉 Check our Rosh Hashanah Guide for all the dinners, and our Best Synagogues for Internationals Guide to find your community. Shana Tova!

HOLIDAY TRADITIONS 🙌

Shofar, Tashlich and Selichot moments across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur aren’t only about dinners and parties — they’re also full of powerful traditions. On Sunday, hear the shofar in the heart of the city at Bialik Square, or join TAIS at Frishman Beach for Tashlich, the symbolic casting away of the past year, followed by 100 shofar blasts. Then on Tuesday, Teder is putting its own spin on the season with An Evening of Shedding Sins, bringing live music, performances and DJs together for a night of letting go. Next week brings several Selichot events leading up to Yom Kippur, from Selichot Around the World at Park HaTachana to Sliha Acheret at Mazeh 9 and a Yogi Tashlich Seder at Givat Aliya Beach. And for one of the most moving nights of the Jewish year, head to Selichot at the Kotel in Jerusalem, where huge crowds gather late at night for prayers of reflection, forgiveness and a fresh start. 👉 Find more holiday traditions in our Rosh Hashanah Guide.
