CHAG SAMEACH! 🍰
Tonight is Shavuot – check out loads of Community Events around the city
Shavuot starts this evening – the one night a year when Tel Aviv stays up for cheesecake, wine, and all-night learning. Get in the mood this afternoon with a Shavuot Fair at Matmon or a dairy-themed birthday party at Yuka Monsters. In the evening, the Tel Aviv International Synagogue, Ben Yehuda 126, Tribe Tel Aviv and JTLV are all hosting festive dairy dinners and Tikkun Leil sessions into the night. For a more cultural Tikkun, Alma’s legendary all-night programme returns to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art for its 30th year. 👉 Check out more Shavuot events on the Secret Tel Aviv website.

SATURDAY PARTIES 🕺🏻
Whole day of dancehall, rock, afrobeat, and loads of fun
Saturday is one to plan around. It all starts at Teder at 2pm with Bashment – a ten-hour sound system marathon of dub, reggae, dancehall, afrobeat and amapiano, plus a Romano pop-up food court with smash burgers and crispy chicken. In the evening, Barby hosts its annual Rock Shavuot Festival, and Kuli Alma pulls double duty with Alma Con Ritmo from 6pm and Bomboclaat taking it into the early hours with a female dancehall takeover by DHQ Shacki (get a free chaser with every alcoholic drink order at Kuli Alma with Secret Tel Aviv Deals!). 👉 Find more great parties on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
GREAT WEEK FOR LIVE MUSIC 🎸
From indie rock to hip-hop, reggae, and lo-fi chaos across the city
It’s a great week to check out the local music scene! Saturday kicks off with Adi Butbika’s acoustic rock-pop @ Amama Jazz, rapper UV teams with Wirdos and Jonatello @ HaMeretz 2, and a reggae-dancehall night @ FOMA. Also don’t miss this week: local hip-hop star Lukach @ Kuli Alma (Mon), Summer Wine Electronic Set @ Uganda Bar (Tue), Sha’anan Streett and DJ Mesh @ HaMeretz 2 (Tue), and Acid Boys closing the week with raw lo-fi stoner rock @ HaMeretz 2 (next Wed) (pic above). 👉 Find more great concerts on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
ENGLISH COMEDY THIS WEEK 🤣
Some much-needed laughs from the city’s English standup comedy scene
We could all do with a laugh right now, and Tel Aviv’s English stand-up scene is doing its part. On Sunday, Anonymous Comedy hosts its open mic night at Alpaca Bar. Monday brings the Grand Finale of the Last Laugh Competition at Polly Bar, where six comics battle for a ₪5,000 prize pool; and TLV Laughs returns to the Hoodna Bar. Then next Wednesday, if we make it until then, Moonlight Comedy by The Stage finally returns to Polly Bar after a “war-and-laziness-driven hiatus.” Thanks everyone – you’re doing a great public service! 👉 More fun events on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
COMEDY FOR KOBY ♥️
Returns on June 1st – get a 20 NIS discount with Secret Tel Aviv Deals!
Comedy for Koby returns to ZOA House on Monday, June 1st, hosted by Israeli-born LA comedian Avi Liberman, who’s been bringing top American comics to Israel since 2003 to raise money for bereaved families through the Koby Mandell Foundation. We’ve also got a special 20 NIS discount through Secret Tel Aviv Deals, plus a giveaway for two free tickets – just create an account in the app and you’ll automatically be entered into the raffle. 👉 More info and more cool events on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
SHEVET’S SINGING CIRCLE 🫂
Next Tuesday: Connect with people and experience the power of music
Shevet’s singing circle returns to Park HaTachana next Tuesday for another open evening of music, connection and collective singing under the sky. There’s no experience needed, no songs to prepare, and no expectations beyond showing up and joining in. Over the past year, these circles have become a meaningful space for a lot of people in the city – part meetup, part emotional release, part giant campfire energy in the middle of Tel Aviv. Free entry, with donations welcome. 👉 More details and more fun meetups on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
OUTDOOR CINEMA IS BACK 🍿
Every Wednesday: Catch free outdoor screenings at Gan HaPisga in Old Jaffa
Grab a blanket and a bottle of wine – the free outdoor cinema season is back at Gan HaPisga in Old Jaffa. One of the highlights of the Tel Aviv summer calendar, the series brings classic films to the hilltop every Wednesday night under the stars. Next week wraps up the supernatural-themed May programme with Ghostbusters, before June shifts into a month of illusion and distorted reality with Rear Window (3.6), The Truman Show (10.6), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (17.6) and Tropic Thunder (24.6). 👉 More info on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
DOCAVIV IS BACK! 🎞️
Starting next Thursday: Tel Aviv’s biggest documentary festival returns for 10 days
The 28th Docaviv International Documentary Film Festival kicks off next Thursday for ten days of screenings across the city. As Israel’s largest documentary festival, it brings more than 100 new local and international films to the Cinematheque and Tel Aviv Museum of Art. One of the best things about Docaviv every year is how it spills out into the city itself, and this year includes a special evening of free screenings on June 2nd at some of our favourite spots including Mitzpor, Migdalor and Suzanne Dellal, plus a free closing event at Teder on Saturday, June 6th. 👉 Find more info and more cultural events on the Secret Tel Aviv website!
INTIMIDANCE FESTIVAL 💃🏻
Next Thursday: Tmuna Theater’s legendary dance festival returns
For 25 years, Intimidance has been one of the most experimental things on Tel Aviv’s cultural calendar, and a big part of why Tmuna Theater remains such an important space in the city. Starting next Thursday through Saturday, the festival returns with world premiere contemporary dance works ranging from raw physical duets to a lecture-performance blending movement with cell biology, alongside student showcases, workshops, and a Late Night lip sync party. It’s the kind of festival where things can get strange, messy and genuinely original – which is exactly the point. 👉 Find more details on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
THE MIND CHURCH 🪬
Next Thursday: We Will Dance Again with the Nova Community @ Hangar 11
The Nova Community, Knesiyat Hasechel, and Eitan Reiter return with The Mind Church at Hangar 11 that transforms remembrance into sound. This unique musical journey crosses genres, from the roots of Israeli rock to the edges of electronic psychedelia. On stage: Knesiyat HaSechel with a special electronic set featuring Eitan Reiter, alongside Israeli psytrance legends Captain Hook, Mita Gami, Darwish (whose set promises to be one of the most moving of the night), Sharon Attar, and The Rabbit Hole. 👉 More info and more special events on the Secret Tel Aviv website.
FRINGE CULTURE NIGHT 🔥
Next Thursday: Local underground is taking over Kiryat HaMelacha
Fringe Culture is taking over Kiryat HaMelacha next Thursday, a collaboration between Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and InDgigs, spreading across the area with live music, video art and exhibitions all running simultaneously. The lineup includes Ram Orion, Pie O My, Kiki Malinki, Uzi Ramirez and more. Also on: the Babua exhibition, a public art project by artists who immigrated to Israel in the last decade, with guided tours (RSVP required). COMMUNITY CHECK-IN 🫂
Tel Aviv’s favorite local businesses need your love right now
On the first night of Pesach, the building on Merkhavya St in Florentin collapsed, taking down two beloved neighbours with it – California Bar and Pizza Lila. Neither is covered by insurance, and both are now trying to rebuild through community support. Pizza Lila has already opened a new spot on Shenkin, while Cali Bar has brought the whole vibe over to Rafi at Teder every evening from 7pm. Another favourite, Norish Cafe on Allenby, reopened after being struck by rocket fire and also opened a beautiful Editions pop-up vol.1 at Soho House Jaffa (no membership needed). This city always finds a way back – let’s help it get there. 🤍
