Zubin Mehta returns to us with two rich programs, which reflect his versatile abilities as one of the great conductors of today. In the first program, Mehta will celebrate the Italian opera with the opening to “The Power of Destiny”, and will delve into the fascinating world of Verdi with arias from it and “The Troubadour” with the mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semanchuk, who conquered the most important stages in the world thanks to her deep and velvety voice. At the end, Dvojek’s Seventh Symphony will be performed, a masterpiece of lyricism and drama, which established his status as a first-class symphonic composer.
The second program will bring out Mehta’s elegant side with the opening to the opera “The Marriage of Figueroa”, followed by the brilliant “Turkish” violin concerto, together with his old friend the violinist Pinchas Zuckerman. We will end the program with Bruckner’s beloved Fourth Symphony, a work that combines Bruckner’s free aesthetic with the romantic mindset of his contemporaries.
זובין מהטה חוזר אלינו בשתי תוכניות עשירות, המשקפות את היכולות המגוונות שלו כאחד המנצחים הגדולים של ימינו. בתוכנית הראשונה מהטה יחגוג את האופרה האיטלקית עם הפתיחה ל”כוחו של גורל”, ויעמיק אל תוך עולמו המרתק של ורדי עם אריות מתוכה ומ”הטרובדור” עם המצו- סופרןיקטרינה סמנצ’וק, שכבשה את הבמות החשובות בעולם בזכות קול עמוק וקטיפתי. לסיום תבוצע הסימפוניה השביעית של דבוז’ק, מופת של ליריקה ודרמה, שביססה את מעמדו כמלחין סימפוני מהשורה הראשונה.
התכנית השניה תביא לידי ביטוי את הצד האלגנטי של מהטה עם הפתיחה לאופרה “נישואי פיגרו”, ואחריה הקונצ’רטו ה”תורכי” המבריק לכינור, יחד עם ידידו הוותיק הכנר פנחס צוקרמן. נסיים את התוכנית עם הסימפוניה הרביעית האהובה של ברוקנר, יצירה המשלבת את האסתטיקה החופשית של ברוקנר עם הלך הרוח הרומנטי של בני זמנו.
