In 1988, Yehuda Poliker stunned the Israeli cultural world with the album “Ashes and Dust”, which for the first time brought to center stage the story of the second generation of the Holocaust. “Ashes and Dust” is still considered today, by many, to be the best Israeli album and one of the most important assets of all Israeli culture.
In 2018 Polikar staged the show 30 years to “Ashes and Dust”, which combines excerpts from the film “Because of that war” with the songs of the album (“Window to the Mediterranean Sea”, “When you grow up”, “The Little Station Treblinka”, “Song after the rain”, ” Radio Ramallah” and more) and classics from all eras that are a continuation and direct background to the album’s songs.
The show received enthusiastic reviews and ran with great success for two years, until the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.
Now, following the events of October 7, Poliker decided to start an annual tradition: the show is held once a year near Holocaust Day.
