Allan Moyle’s youth comedy (Pump Up The Volume). Joe (Anthony Lapaglia) runs the record store “Empire Records”, an independent store in Delaware that employs a cohesive group of music-savvy young people. When Lucas, one of the employees hears that the store may be sold to a large chain, he bets the store’s money in the casino, hoping to get a bigger return. When this plan fails, the store gets into serious trouble and the store employees decide to raise the necessary amount themselves and help their beloved boss Joe keep the place going. With Liv Tyler (Touch of Beauty), Robin Tunney (The Witch) and Renee Zellweger (Myself and Irene).

קומדיית נעורים של אלן מויל (רדיו חזק). ג’ו (אנת’וני לפליה) מנהל את חנות התקליטים “אמפייר רקורדס”, חנות עצמאית בדלאוור שמעסיקה קבוצה מגובשת של צעירים מביני מוזיקה. כשלוקאס, אחד מהעובדים שומע על כך שהחנות עשויה להימכר לרשת גדולה, הוא מהמר על כספי החנות בקזינו, בתקווה לקבל תמורה גדולה יותר. כשתוכנית זאת נכשלת, החנות נקלעת לצרות רציניות ועובדי החנות מחליטים להרים בעצמם את הסכום הדרוש ולעזור לבוס האהוב שלהם ג’ו להחזיק במקום. עם ליב טיילר (לגעת ביופי), רובין טאני (הכישוף) ורנה זלווגר (אני עצמי ואיירין).
