Is an experimental collective led by Jay Robinson and Esther Shaw. The music they produce is not for gentle souls: it is the darkest post-rock. The experimental sound of JR Robinson and Esther Shaw is impossible. Every record released by the band sounds completely different.
After struggling with tragedies in their lives (the death of a close relative and treatment of a relative with a chronic illness), Robinson and Shaw relocated from Chicago to the isolated town of Astoria, with little to do with their instruments. The couple focused on two things: healing emotional wounds and creating.
In their new album The Alone Rush has an intense intimacy, which may be even deeper than the bombasticity and heaviness of the ensemble in the past.
Highly recommended for people who also like artists such as Chelsea Wolf, Ana von Hausulf, Godspeed etc.
