Where will Israeli cinema go after the October Seventh? Is there an exclusive way to deal with trauma? Is it even necessary to make a movie when all the pain, shock and trauma are still fresh or is the perspective of time required to let the wounds heal? Is it even possible to create a cinematic image that would contain something of the essence of the horror?
Following Shani Kiniso’s off-screen manifesto, “For unimaginable cinema – a call to Israeli filmmakers”, we will discuss these and other questions with some of the leading creators in Israel and try to formulate positions on the issues that will arise.
Our wish is that the crowded conversation will literally turn into a real meeting, and we invite the audience to express a position, ask and disagree about the things said or the assumptions in the text itself. Film enthusiasts, filmmakers and critics – we invite you to join us for an in-depth discussion and imagine together the frame of the day after.

לאן יפנה הקולנוע הישראלי לאחר השבעה באוקטובר? האם קיימת דרך מסוימת בלעדית לעסוק בטראומה? האם בכלל צריך ליצור קולנוע כשכל הכאב, ההלם והאלם עוד טריים או שמא נדרשת פרספקטיבה של זמן כדי לתת לפצעים להתאחות? האם בכלל ניתן ליצור דימוי קולנועי שיכיל משהו ממשותה של הזוועה?
בעקבות המניפסט של שני קיניסו באוף סקרין, “למען קולנוע בלתי נתפס – קריאה ליוצרות ויוצרי הקולנוע הישראלי”, נדון עם כמה מן היוצרים והיוצרות המובילים בארץ בשאלות הללו ואחרות וננסה לגבש עמדות בסוגיות שיעלו.
