On Tuesday, 26.8, we are honored to host Kobi Hobara and Oded Feuerstein at the “think & drink” meetings in Sura Mara, for two brief lectures on Hitler, Stalin and Churchill.

In this lecture by Oded Feuerstein of the great history team in Katana, we will see the rise and fall of the cult of Stalin’s heroes and try to understand – what happened to Stalinism after his death?

Kobi was composed in two lectures that are interwoven with the two Titans who changed the face of World War II and the whole world:

Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill had never met, but that did not stop them from having a stormy relationship. A relationship full of mockery, anger, attraction, and a touch of mutual admiration. A relationship worthy of a superhero and arch-villain, when the two leaders are convinced that they are the saviors of humanity.

יוסף סטלין נחשב למשך עשורים ל”שמש העמים” וקברניט המהפכה הקומוניסטית – אז מה קורה כשהוא מת יום אחד, ופשעיו נחשפים לעיני כל? בהרצאה זו מפי עודד פוירשטיין מצוות היסטוריה גדולה בקטנה, נראה את עלייתו וקריסתו של פולחן הגיבורים של סטלין וננסה להבין – מה קרה לסטליניזם לאחר לכתו?

קובי חוברה בשתי הרצאות ששזורות זו בזו על שתי הדמויות הטיטאניות ששינו את פני מלחמת העולם השנייה ואת העולם כולו:
שתיין מול נמנע, גרגרן מול צמחוני, שובב מול קורקטי.
מעולם לא זימנה ההיסטוריה זו מול זו שתי דמויות שונות כל כך, במאבק איתנים שתוצאותיו הכתיבו את עתיד העולם.
אדולף היטלר ווינסטון צ’רצ’יל מעולם לא נפגשו, אך עובדה זו לא הפריעה להם לנהל מערכת יחסים סוערת ומסועפת. מערכת יחסים רוויית לעג, זעם, משיכה וגם קורטוב הערצה הדדית. מערכת יחסים הראויה לגיבור-על וארכי-נבל, כששני המנהיגים משוכנעים שהם הם, מציליהם של האנושות.
