We are proud to present our collaboration with the social-community project ‘The Lost Treasure’ at a celebratory launch evening at Beit Romano, with a philanthropic panel moderated by Shaul Amsterdamski, stand-up by Tom Yaar and a line-up of live performances that we fear if we advertise too many people will come so we will tell you about it soon …

Get to know – The Lost Treasure is a recent local initiative that relies on the following amazing fact: according to the Bank of Israel data, there are currently in Israel about 150 million shekels in tens of pennies only (!) which are not part of the economic cycle.
I mean – full of money that just doesn’t do anything with it, and is literally lying in jars at the entrance to the house, between the cushions of the sofa, in all kinds of niches in the car and on the sidewalks.
Based on this fact, the members of the project have been working for two years within various educational frameworks in Israel with a simple concept – the children collect dozens of pennies, decide on an association or cause that is close to their hearts and donate the coins they have collected to it. Along the way they learn about social entrepreneurship, volunteering, community responsibility and solidarity.
They initiate the procedure together with the Brinks company, which voluntarily transports the tons of these coins to the bank from where they were collected, and the association ‘Igol Latova’ transfers the treasure from the bank to the selected associations. In this way, close to half a million shekels have already been collected in only dozens of pennies, which have already been donated to dozens of associations and social organizations.

We are happy to announce that for the first time the initiative will leave the educational frameworks and come directly to Beit Romano – with a new treasure chest designed by Studio Padua (led by the designer, winner of the Edmond de Rothschild award Prof. Alex Padua) which will be located in a strategic spot in the complex – and you are invited to come with a bag/jar of ten cent coins and choose Where to donate your private treasure using the QR code on the box.

תכירו – האוצר האבוד היא יוזמה מקומית טרייה שמסתמכת על העובדה המדהימה הבאה: לפי נתוני בנק ישראל כרגע, ישנם בישראל כ- 150 מיליון שקלים בעשרות אגורות בלבד (!) אשר אינם חלק מהמחזור הכלכלי.
כלומר – מלא כסף שפשוט לא קורה איתו כלום, ושוכב לנו ממש בצנצנות בכניסה לבית, בין הכריות של הספה, בכל מיני גומחות באוטו ועל המדרכות.
מתוך העובדה הזאת, החברים בפרויקט פועלים כבר שנתיים בתוך מסגרות חינוך שונות בארץ בקונספט פשוט – הילדים אוספים עשרות אגורות, מחליטים על עמותה או מטרה שקרובה לליבם ותורמים אליה את המטבעות שאספו. בדרך הם לומדים על יזמות חברתית, התנדבות, אחריות קהילתית וסולידריות.
את הפרוצדורה הם מניעים יחד עם חברת ברינקס שמשנעת בהתנדבות את הטונות של המטבעות הללו לבנק מהיכן שנאספו, ועמותת ׳עיגול לטובה׳ מעבירה את האוצר מהבנק לעמותות הנבחרות. ככה נאספו כבר קרוב לחצי מיליון שקלים בעשרות אגורות בלבד, שכבר נתרמו לעשרות עמותות וארגונים חברתיים.

אנחנו שמחים לבשר שלראשונה היוזמה תצא מהמסגרות החינוכיות ותגיע היישר אלינו לבית רומנו – עם תיבת אוצר חדשה בעיצוב סטודיו פדואה (בראשות המעצב זוכה פרס אדמונד דה רוטשילד פרופ׳ אלכס פדואה) שתמוקם בספוט אסטרטגי במתחם – ואתם מוזמנים להגיע עם שקיק/צנצנת מטבעות עשר אגורות ולבחור לאן לתרום את האוצר הפרטי שלכם בעזרת QR קוד על גבי התיבה.
