The blues of free girls
Noya Sol resurrects the original, feminine blues of the early 20th century –
The blues that grew up in response to black women who found themselves, for the first time in history, free women – legal freedom, economic and sexual. And the full meaning of freedom also includes the understanding that freedom does not concern you, it only allows you to take care of yourself as much as you can.
The gap between hopes and reality produced strong, poignant, beautiful, horny, shameless and candid music about all aspects of life – the good and the sad.
