As is our tradition, we will be celebrating this year’s Black Night of Culture and Protest – especially dedicated this year to Democracy Without Segregation!!!
Faced with aggressive gentrification, marginalization of disadvantaged populations, refusal to allow for multicultural representation of diverse communities, forced evictions, threats of deportation, segregation, and separation – we demand democracy without segregation!!!
Our line-up for the night includes:
AIN’T NO LADY – A hip hop group that brings to the fore the words and message of Pat Parker, African American poet and activist who fought for civil rights and wrote protest songs.
Vocals: Naama HaCohen | Computer and electric guitar: Tomer Beitan | Darbuka: Michal Amar
DREAM BOYS – This Sudanese hip hop group was formed as its six members, all asylum seekers, met inside the Holot detention facility. Their lyrics are in English, and they are active in the Tel Aviv area.
