Wed 8 January 2020 | 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Dizzy Frishdon - Dizengoff 112, Tel Aviv,

About the lecture:
Those who have studied math at high levels will not hesitate to talk about it in terms of beauty. As mathematician George Cantor said – “Mathematicians do not learn pure mathematics because of its usefulness; they do it for the pleasure of its beauty.”

Most of us have studied math only at the middle level, as the on-board equation or other such exercises and to give mathematics a feature like beauty, will not take for granted.
But, these equations can also be expressed differently, in a way that transcends letters and numbers presented as they are.
What does this actually mean? How can you convey the mathematical beauty? How can this be done without mathematicians?

Ayelet will answer these questions in her lecture, reviewing theorems and mathematical definitions, explain their meaning, and talk about the way she found to translate them into visual arts
