The legendary Japanese drummer TATSUYA YOSHIDA returns to Tel Aviv in a solo performance and will also play an impromptu performance with Igor Krutogolov and Asif Zachar.

Tatsuya Yoshida – master drummer, the guru of the Japanese underground and leader of the band RUINS
The legendary, will return for one performance in Tel Aviv. This time Tatsuya Yoshida will play pieces of RUINS in the RUINS ALONE format. In the second part of the performance, Yoshida will be joined by two Israeli musicians, bassist Igor Krutogolov and saxophonist Asif Zahar. The three performed together several times, during Tatsuya Yoshida’s previous visits to Israel, and also released a CD documenting the trio’s impromptu performance.
The Japanese band Ruins that has been around since the mid-80s is a very strange chicken animal even in the terms of the already bizarre Japanese fringe scene. They started as a hardcore-punk group with a flavor of progressive rock, and gradually flowed towards more and more complex musical forms, to the point of tooth-breaking polyrhythmic experiments, while appropriating elements of jazz, ethnic music, thrash-metal, noise, classical opera and free improvisation. All along RUINS managed to maintain the initial enthusiasm and energetic delivery of hardcore-punk.
The words of RUINS are written in a non-existent language, which sometimes reminds of Cuban – a language invented by Christian Vander, the leader of “Magma”, a French progressive rock band that has been active since the seventies. “Magma” is also the most obvious influence on RUINS’ music. The compositions that Tatsuya Yoshida composes excel in their complexity and make the listener be stunned by the precision and discipline of RUINS together with a restrained mission and complete spontaneity in the performance.

טצויה יושידה – מתופף על, הגורו של האנדרגראונד היפני ומנהיג להקת RUINS
האגדית, יחזור להופעה אחת בתל-אביב. הפעם טצויה יושידה ינגן קטעים של RUINS בפורמט RUINS ALONE. בחלק השני של ההופעה יצטרפו ליושידה שני מוזיקאים ישראלים, הבסיסט איגור קרוטוגולוב והסקסופוניסט אסיף צחר. השלושה הופיעו יחד מספר פעמים, בעת הביקורים הקודמים של טצויה יושידה בישראל, וגם הוציאו דיסק המתעד את ההופעה המאולתרת של הטריו.
הלהקה היפנית Ruins שקיימת מאז אמצע שנות ה-80 היא חיה עוף מוזר מאוד גם במונחי סצינת השוליים היפנית הביזארית ממילא. הם התחילו בתור הרכב הארדקור-פאנק עם ניחוח של רוק מתקדם, וזרמו בהדרגה לכיוון צורות מוסיקליות מורכבות יותר ויותר, עד כדי אקספרימנטים פוליריתמיים שוברי שיניים, תוך שהם מנכסים לעצמם אלמנטים של ג’אז, מוסיקה אתנית, טרש-מטאל, נויז, אופרה קלאסית ואלתור חופשי. לאורך כל הדרך RUINS הצליחו לשמור על ההתלהבות הראשונית וההגשה האנרגטית של הארדקור-פאנק.
המילים של RUINS כתובות בשפה לא קיימת, שמזכירה לעתים את הקובאיאנית – שפה שהומצאה על ידי כריסטיאן ואנדר, מנהיג “מאגמה”, להקת רוק מתקדם צרפתית שפעילה משנות השבעים. “מאגמה” היא גם ההשפעה המובהקת ביותר על המוסיקה של RUINS. היצירות שטצויה יושידה מלחין מצטיינות במורכבות יתרה וגורמות למאזין להיות המום מהדיוק והמשמעת של RUINS יחד עם שליחות רסן וספונטניות מוחלטת בביצוע.
טצויה יושידה הוא אחד המתופפים החדשניים ומהמלחינים/מאלתרים הייחודיים ביותר בסצנת השוליים של טוקיו. במהלך השנים הוא הפך לסוג של גורו באוונגרד היפני העכשווי, ועבד, פרט ל-RUINS ושאר להקותיו, עם מוסיקאים בולטים כמו דרק ביילי, ביל לאסוול, קייג’י היינו, אוטומו יושיהידה וג’ון זורן. חלק מהדיסקים של RUINS יצאו בלייבלים נחשבים, כמו “Tzadik” של ג’ון זורן ו-“Ipecac” של מייק פאטון. עד היום בדיסקוגרפיה של טצויה אפשר למצוא יותר מ-100 אלבומים.
