Ori Lahav is Co-Founder, CTO and General Manager, Israel at Outbrain, and he oversees the company’s R&D center located in Netanya, Israel. Prior to co-founding Outbrain, Ori led the R&D groups in search and classification at Shopping.com, which was acquired by eBay for $634 million. Ori also previously led the video streaming server group at technology company Vsoft.
Outbrain , founded in 2006 by Ori Lahav and Yaron Galai, developed software that allows publishing sites, like CNN, Fox News and Slate, to offer their viewers “smart content” that is relevant to the viewers’ previous searches. The firm employs some 600 workers around the world, including 250 in Israel, mostly in R&D. Outbrain, which has raised some $193 million to date from private investors, was named by IVC Research Center, which tracks the Israel high-tech scene, as one of the 24 Israeli firms that are ripe to hold an initial public offering of shares.
