Materials for Therapy is a series of stand-up evenings for writers who are willing to give their ego a platform. And Laid. And super ego. Each evening, six writers would sit one after the other on the patient’s couch, and remove their defense mechanisms in a stand-up show. In our world it seems that psychological therapy has become on the one hand a basic commodity for a functioning person, and on the other a luxury only for the rich – what is left for us but to laugh at our situation? On this stage there is room for every complex, and we won’t stop until the woman with the graying hair and the scarf says with a polite smile, “We’re out of time.”

We were told that until we love ourselves we cannot love anyone else, so we went to therapy but the psychologist only makes us angry at our mother. We were told that the path to healing is by observing our inner child with a compassionate and attentive gaze, but we stopped listening after the word “healing”.
Sure sure sure there is some reason for everything, there is a sublime meaning, sure there is a big plan that the cosmos is trying to show us, if only we believed in it… maybe we could stop with the cypherlax.
