Tel Aviv University - Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv,

A few weeks ago, a picture of a huge black hole was first published in a galaxy close to the Milky Way.

The photograph, which shows the shadow of the black hole against the background of radiation emitted from the surrounding material, was photographed using a special telescope called the Horizon of Events telescope, which was developed as part of an international initiative specifically designed for this purpose.

In the lecture I will explain the importance of the discovery, and how it sheds light on those strange objects that have fascinated humanity for decades.

The lecture will take place at the Lev Auditorium, Faculty of Exact Sciences, Tel Aviv University.

Admission is free, no registration required or prior knowledge!
