On Wednesday, April 21, we will screen the “Documentary in Shapira”, the second episode of the series “The Bay”, followed by an open conversation with the creator of the series Uri Rosenwex, and with Dr. Dov Hanin, one of the leaders of the environmental struggle in Israel for the healing of Haifa Bay.

** Please note that as usual, following the meeting also with Dov Hanin, the screening will start at 21:00 and the conversation at 22:00 **

Haifa Bay, the third largest metropolis in the State of Israel, is a sick area, the backyard of the country. At its heart lies a quarter of Israel’s polluting industry; Infection and morbidity figures are skyrocketing and anyone who can is leaving, especially young people.

Is there a future for Haifa Bay? Are there anyone who will raise the flag and go out to fight pollution, government neglect and tycoons?

Chapter 2 deals with capital-government relations: how the interests of the capitalists are promoted behind the scenes and in the corridors of government.

A little about a documentary in Shapira:

A documentary in Shapira has been opening every Wednesday at Cafe Shapira for almost 5 years. Every Wednesday we screen an Israeli documentary and after that we have an open conversation between the creators and the audience.

The project operates without funding, and on a voluntary basis by the staff and all the creators, to allow the films to go out of the cinemas and reach anyone who wants to.

This community-social cinema manages to remain open and enabling thanks to your support, which is especially important at this time when the creators have lost much of their livelihoods and we want them to continue to come to us despite the situation.

ברביעי, 21.4, נקרין ב”דוקומנטרי בשפירא” את הפרק השני הסדרה מתוך הסדרב “המפרץ”, ואחר-כך תתקיים שיחה פתוחה עם יוצר הסדרה, אורי רוזנווקס, ועם ד”ר דב חנין, מראשי המאבק הסביבתי בישראל. כח”כ פעל רבות למען הבראת מפרץ חיפה.

מפרץ חיפה, המטרופולין השלישי בגודלו במדינת ישראל, הוא אזור חולה, החצר האחורית של המדינה. בליבו שוכנת רבע מהתעשייה המזהמת של ישראל; נתוני הזיהום והתחלואה זועקים לשמים וכל מי שיכול עוזב, בעיקר צעירים.
האם יש עתיד למפרץ חיפה? האם יש מי שירימו את הדגל ויצאו להילחם נגד הזיהום, החידלון הממשלתי והטייקונים?

הפרק ה-2 עוסק בקשרי הון-שלטון: כיצד מקודמים אינטרסים של בעלי ההון מאחורי הקלעים ובמסדרונות השלטון.

דוקומנטרי בשפירא נפתח בכל רביעי בקפה שפירא כבר כמעט 5 שנים. בכל רביעי אנחנו מקרינים סרט דוקומנטרי ישראלי ואחריו מקימים שיחה פתוחה בין היוצרים לקהל.
הפרוייקט פועל ללא מימון, ובהתנדבות של הצוות ושל כלל היוצרים, כדי לאפשר לסרטים לצאת אל מחוץ לבתי הקולנוע ולהגיע לכל מי שחפץ בכך.

הקולנוע הקהילתי-חברתי הזה מצליח להישאר פתוח ומאפשר בזכות התמיכה שלכם, שחשובה במיוחד בתקופה הזאת שבה היוצרים איבדו הרבה ממקורות הפרנסה שלהם ואנחנו רוצים שהם ימשיכו להגיע אלינו למרות המצב.
