Screening of “My friend Yaniv” and a meeting with the creators

On Wednesday, February 13, we will be screening a documentary film in Shfira by Maayan Schwartz, “My friend, Yaniv.”

Yaniv and Maayan (the film’s creator) have been friends for more than 10 years. The film provides a glimpse into their sincere societies. Yaniv suffers from muscular dystrophy. Recently, Yaniv shares Maayan’s desire to leave the house, and for the first time in his life he is truly independent, even if this is a move that could endanger his life.

Yaniv takes us on a journey full of humor, which challenges conventional thinking about what it means to be alive. The film reflects a life of constant struggle between the desired and the desirable, between desire and determination, between body and soul, helplessness and optimism. Which side will decide?
