We will screen the film “Jenny & Jenny” and the short film, and after the screening we will have an open conversation with the filmmakers.

Michal Aviad’s documentary follows for one summer Jenny and Jenny, two 17-year-old cousins from Bat Yam who are also best friends.
Jenny and Jenny are at a crossroads where on one side they still see childhood and youth – and on the other side they already see the future, maturity and femininity. Aviad observes them through the lens of the camera and records them in the summer diary routine, between the 11th and 12th grade, while they are looking for their place in society and dealing with concepts such as beauty, boredom, family, livelihood, studies and romance.

סרטה התיעודי של מיכל אביעד מלווה במשך קיץ אחד את ג’ני וג’ני, שתי בנות דודות בנות 17 מבת־ים שהן גם החברות הכי טובות.
ג’ני וג’ני נמצאות בצומת שמצדו האחד עדיין רואים את הילדוּת והנעורים – ומצדו האחר כבר רואים את העתיד, את הבגרות והנשיות. אביעד מתבוננת בהן מבעד לעדשת המצלמה ומתעדת אותן בשגרת יומן הקיצית, בתווך שבין כיתה י”א לכיתה י”ב, בעודן מחפשות את מקומן בחברה ומתמודדות עם מושגים כמו יופי, שעמום, משפחה, פרנסה, לימודים ורומנטיקה.
