On Saturday, February 11 at 12:00, Marev Sudai, exhibition curators will talk about the exhibition “Prism” presented at the Maya Gallery.

“In each work, the figures appear to be in constant motion. They are the moment before, they are this moment, and all the moments that could have been. Sometimes the artist appears in the works as a mother, and in others as a child, as a sister, and even as a lover. In each show, the artist asks questions about her place as each of the women. She Brushes her hair, she caresses, she puts her head in her lap. In fact, every action of hers has a double character. She puts her head in her lap, she wraps and wraps, she comforts and comforts, delights and delights.

This dual intimacy becomes the center of the atmosphere of each space where the paintings are placed. When they hang or watch each other, they flutter to each other and multiply more and more the double figures as well and continue the pendulum movement between search and exposure. In this way, one gets the impression of a thing that is always in process, always in the midst of an endless craft that does not strive for an end, like a dance of identities.”

“בכל עבודה נראות הדמויות כמי שנמצאות בתנועה מתמדת. הן הרגע שלפני, הן הרגע הזה וכל הרגעים שיכלו להיות. לפרקים מופיעה האומנית בעבודות כאם, ולפרקים כילדה, כאחות ואפילו מאהבת. בכל מופע שואלת האומנית שאלות על מקומה שלה בתור כל אחת מן הנשים. היא מברישה את שיערה, היא מלטפת, היא מניחה ראש בחיק. למעשה, בכל פעולה שלה טמון אופי כפול. היא מניחה את ראשה בחיקה שלה, היא עוטפת ונעטפת, היא מנחמת ומתנחמת, מענגת ומתענגת.

אינטימיות דואלית זו הופכת למרכז האטמוספירה של כל חלל שבו מוצבים הציורים. כאשר הם תלויים או שעונים זה על זה, הם מפעפעים זה אל זה ומכפילים עוד ועוד את הדמויות הכפולות גם כך וממשיכים את תנועת המטוטלת שבין חיפוש לחשיפה. באופן זה מתקבל רושם של דבר הנמצא תמיד בתהליך, תמיד בעיצומה של מלאכה אינסופית ושאינה שואפת לסוף, כמחול של זהויות.”
