Inspired by Mariana Enríquez’s novel of the same name, which conjures the poetry of dread to navigate Argentina’s unspeakable history, this exhibition explores the complexities of horror beyond mere shock value. Enríquez aptly states that horror, emerges from the depths of trauma, guilt, and grief. In like manner, the works in this exhibition turn a dark light onto recesses of reality and history. In their haunting and quiet ways, they provide inroads into raw, unprocessed materials.
