“Tour de Force … an hour and a half of energetic, dynamic, sweeping, impressive and very fun” – Ben Shalev, the country
pianist Omar Klein has no need to present to the jazz-loving crowd in Israel. For the past decade, Klein has been busy with extensive international work. His concerts and albums are loved around the world, he is the recipient of the prestigious Echo (German Grammy) award, and his every visit to the country is a jazz celebration with Israeli roots.
Along with his trio that includes Hagai Cohen Milo in bass and Amir Bressler in drums, Klein creates original, bold, exciting and touching music. The trio’s new album and show, “Radio Mediterranean,” is a love song for the Mediterranean whose band members grew up. Klein’s new tunes are constantly sweeping, combining various organisms with various Mediterranean influences – from the Balkans, North Africa, Turkey and more.
All of this is served in the deep, virtuosic playing of Klein, Bressler and Cohen Milo, who continue the tradition of American jazz greats by creating their own new and original style.
This is Klein’s first collaboration with Shai Sabri. The two have loved each other’s music for years, so a natural connection and a passionate Mediterranean encounter is expected.
