When Indian slide guitar meets electronic sounds, cello and double bass, unexpected musical magic happens
The Ofer Mizrahi Trio examines combinations of Western, Turkish, Indian and Caucasian music in a cross-cultural dialogue, where traditional boundaries blur.
Ofer Mizrahi is an extraordinary musician, whose work subtly blends folk, jazz and oriental music.
Mizrahi is associated with the Leviathan guitar, which he built and designed out of a continuous search for the range of sounds between East and West. The whale guitar is an engineered version of an Indian slide guitar with electronic sounds; It consists of twenty-four strings, three fret centers and four amplification centers that merge into a unique sound language.
