About the MK:
MK Elazar Stern, representing the Blue & White Party, focuses his parliamentary activity on religion and state, and the Jewish-Democratic discourse in the Israeli Knesset. He passed the Bill to withhold Palestinian money meant to reward terrorists and fought to increase resources provided to Holocaust survivors in Israel.
He is the highest ranking Religious Zionist IDF officer – the only one so far to attain the rank of Major General. As the Head of the Human Resources Directorate, he initiated the Nativ conversion program, initiated and executed the Edim Be Madim (Witnesses in Uniform) project, taking soldiers in uniform to see the concentration camps first hand and headed a special committee that reformulated the values of the IDF spirit (Ruach Tzahal). He lives in Mitzpe Hoshaya, a village he founded 40 years ago with his wife, Dorit. They have 5 children and 13 grandchildren.
