Matisyahu is a Jewish hip-hop reggae singer in Brooklyn, New York. Matisyahu began his musical journey in his youth when he performed with different bands in different styles. He amazingly combines jazz singing with singing in the cantor style. After several years of musical activity, Matisyahu had his first success with the song ‘KING WITHOUT A CROWN,’ which was very close to entering the list of the 20 most played rock songs. In 2005, the successful nu-metal band P.O.D. was a guest on the album.
A cover story was written about Matisyahu in “Time”. The Jewish-American newspaper “The Forward” mentions him as one of the five most influential Jews in the United States. In August 2009 Matisyahu released his third album “Light” which reached the 19th place in the list of the best selling albums in the United States. The first single from the album “One Day”, in which Matisyahu strives for peace one day, was a success around the world. In the 2010 World Cup final, the song one day performed by Matisyahu was played as background music. On January 12, 2010, the official remix for the single “One Day” featuring the R&B icon singer was released. Later, a remix version of the song was also released by the band Infected Mashrom.
