Liberthon – Hack The Future of Nations – the first hackathon for reinventing the way countries work using P2P decentralized technologies. If you want to implement your brilliant ideas and experience building decentralized applications, then Liberthon 2018 is for you. So have fun meeting other developers, designers and founders of nations!
Preparation Meetup: Thursday, 25 October 2018
Date and Time of Liberthon: November 8 – 9, 2018 at 09:00 a.m.
Place: Spacemesh Offices: Mikonis 5, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, 3rd Floor.
Food: COME HUNGRY! Liberthon will be catered with plenty of pizza and refreshments!
What is P2P decentralized technologies? Many of today’s most useful and widespread applications, such as Bittorrent, Whatsapp, TOR, Telegram and various video chat apps, employ p2p infrastructures to create fast, secure and scalable applications. Liberthon participants are invited to take a different approach, on standard client server architectures and to use p2p technology to invent apps that can disrupt our nationwide infrastructures.
Choose from one of these potential projects or create your own:
* Decentralized voting and decision making systems
* Assets and citizenship registration
* transportation systems
* Voluntary taxation systems
* Digital identities and vetting
* Efficient smart cities
* Promoting the right to privacy and anonymity.
* Infrastructure for NGOs
* Bureaucracy reduction solutions
* Infrastructure resource management systems
* Any social impact project that can benefit fairness and empower the individual citizen�
The Plan:
You must first come to the Liberthon preparation meetup on Thursday, 25 October 2018. Here is the agenda:
16:30 – Gathering and networking.
17:00 – Intro and welcome message.
17:15 – Teams formation, Ideas pitching.
18:15 – Pizzas and networking.
19:00 – P2P and decentralized technologies workshops
22:00 – Teams formation.
Why Team formation? Speedating, pitching and networking sessions will provide the ideal opportunity to get to know the other hackathon participants − whether you are looking to form or join a team, expand your team’s membership, or just discuss ideas. It will be hours of hacking, creation and fun!
Preference to participate in Liberthon will be given to applicants who will participate in the preparation meetup. Do you wish to participate but cannot attend the preparation meetup, please contact Spacemesh.

2. Consensus algorithms and Byzantine Fault Tolerance.
What is the prize?
30,000 Staked Liberland Merits (LLM)

Judges:
1. Vít Jedlička – President of Free Republic of Liberland.
2. Prof. Tal Moran – Chief Scientist at Spacemesh and Expert in Cryptography. A former postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University, Tal is a professor at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya.
