Immigration’s Future in an Era of Right-Wing Populist Ascendancy

We invite you to a lecture this Thursday, May 18 at 14:00 by Professor Peter Kivisto on Immigration’s Future in an Era of Right-Wing Populist Ascendancy. The seminar will be held in Naftali Building room 527, the 5th floor of the Social Science Building.

Peter Kivisto is the Richard A. Swanson Professor of Social Thought at Augustana College. He is currently the Co-Director of the Research Laboratory on Transnationalism and Migration Processes at St. Petersburg State University. The author of more than 30 books and over 150 articles, his research focuses on theory, religion, and immigration, with a particular focus on social integration and civil society. His most recent books include National Identity in an Age of Migration (Routledge, 2017), Solidarity, Justice, and Incorporation: Thinking through The Civil Sphere (edited with Giuseppe Sciortino, Oxford University Press, 2015) and Religion and Immigration: Migrant Faiths in North America and Western Europe (Polity Press, 2014).
