High Noon โ€“ The new solo show of the artist Ronny Almagor

Almagorโ€™s work examines the symbiosis of man and his natural environment and manโ€™s desire to be near nature. The name of the exhibition, Tzoharey Hayom, is the time of day in which light is constant, no sunrise or sunset. It also describes a small window, porthole or opening to the light. In English, this time of day is High Noon. All of Almagorโ€™s works depict High Noon, exactly midday. The plants and flora passed daily, local vegetation, well established gardens and parks, urban ornamental ponds and windows holding potted plants or growing vines are painted as micro views, almost a detail of a larger scene.
While Almagor’s paintings are void of humans, one feels as if you are standing right next to the plant or window emphasizing the desire to be in nature. The paintings were created specifically for the exhibition space in Jaffa and portray mainly old Jaffa.
