Gal Shemi plays for the first time in front of an audience the debut album accompanied by a band. The album “And yet words” was created, mainly, from a connection to the world of poetry and poetry. While interweaving melodies to poets’ songs with instrumental sections, he combines the worlds of jazz and classical, Hebrew-Israeli and universal, and takes the listener on an almost cinematic journey between reflections and intimate moments.�
Gal is a pianist-creator, writer, composer for media and music producer. In recent years he has been working mainly as a keyboardist and musical arranger-producer, in the studio and on stages, in a variety of styles between music for theater and cinema, indie-pop, R&B, alternative and “world music”.
גל שמי מנגן לראשונה מול קהל את אלבום הבכורה בליווי להקה. האלבום “ובכל זאת מילים” נוצר, בעיקרו, מתוך חיבור לעולם השירה והפואטיקה. תוך שזירה של לחנים לשירי משוררים עם קטעים אינסטרומנטליים, הוא משלב בין עולמות הג’אז והקלאסי, העברי-ישראלי והאוניברסלי, ומעביר את המאזין מסע קולנועי כמעט בין הרהורים ורגעים אינטימיים.�
גל הוא פסנתרן-יוצר, כותב, מלחין למדיה ומפיק מוזיקלי. בשנים האחרונות פועל בעיקר כקלידן ומעבד-מפיק מוזיקלי, באולפן ועל הבמות, במגוון סגנונות שבין מוזיקה לתיאטרון וקולנוע, אינדי-פופ, אר-אנד-בי, אלטרנטיב ו”מוזיקת עולם”.
