Fatoumata Diawara Live in Tel Aviv

The greatest African artist in the world, Fatoumata Diawara, is coming for the first time to one concert in Israel with a full band.

Born in Ivory Coast, the Queen of the Desert grew up in the African music powerhouse of Mali, where she was called “Mali’s first female guitarist”. The first success of the artist who sang in Bambara, the official language of Mali, did not go unnoticed by the record companies and she was signed to the largest record company in the world, Warner Music Group.

The acting career of the artist is no less glittering, and she has participated in a considerable amount of successful films, plays and musicals, including the masterful film Timbuktu released in 2014 and won seven César Awards and a prestigious nomination for the Oscar Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

During the last decade and a half, her talent has been heard around the world as a guest on the hits of some of the most important artists in the world, including the jazz giant Herbie Hancock, the beloved electronic duo Disclosure and of course the song “Désolé” which she wrote together with Damon Albarn for the last album of the band Gorillaz. Her charisma on stage and unique singing ability eventually led her to the top of her dreams and a one-off joint performance with Paul McCartney.

האמנית האפריקאית הגדולה בעולם, Fatoumata Diawara, מגיעה בפעם הראשונה להופעה אחת בישראל עם הרכב מלא.

מלכת המדבר שנולדה בחוף השנהב, גדלה במעצמת המוזיקה האפריקאית מאלי, שם היא כונתה “הגיטריסטית הראשונה של מאלי”. ההצלחה הראשונה של האמנית ששרה בבמברה, השפה הרשמית של מאלי, לא נעלמה מעיניהם של חברות התקליטים והיא הוחתמה בחברת התקליטים הגדולה בעולם Warner Music Group.

קריירת המשחק של האמנית נוצצת לא פחות, והיא השתתפה בכמות לא מבוטלת של סרטים, הצגות ומחזות זמר מצליחים, ביניהם הסרט המופתי Timbuktu שיצא בשנת 2014 וזכה בשבע פרסי סזאר ומועמדות יוקרתית לפרס האוסקר לסרט הזר הטוב ביותר.

במהלך העשור וחצי האחרונים כישרונה נשמע בעולם כאורחת בלהיטים של כמה מהאמנים החשובים בעולם, ביניהם ענק הג’אז הרבי הנקוק, הצמד האלקטרוני האהוב דיסקלוז’ר וכמובן השיר “Désolé” שכתבה ביחד עם דיימון אלברן עבור האלבום האחרון של להקת גורילז. הכריזמה על הבמה ויכולת שירה ייחודית הובילו אותה בסופו של דבר לפסגת החלומות ולהופעה משותפת וחד פעמית עם פול מקרטני.
