Beit HaYotzer - Kaf Gimel Yordei ha-Sira St 1, Tel Aviv,

The well-known and appreciated Malawian Guitarist and Producer Erik Paliani is coming for an intro tour in Israel and a show in Bet Hayotzer at Tel-Aviv port!

Fresh after producing the first Malawian Jazz Festival, Erik is coming to bring the word of Afro-Jazz to Israel with an Afro-Jazz funky trio performance accompanied by Yogev Shetrit (Drums) and Meni Welt (Bass).

Born and raised in Malawi and done most of his career in South Africa, Erik is most known for his work with Zamajobe as producerguitarist (nominated both for SAMA South African Music Awards and MTV awards) and with the Jazz trumpeter Hugh Masekela (also known for his work with Dizzy Gillepsie), who he produced and was his lead guitarist and music director in tours around Europe and Africa.

He is also one of the producers behind the Album “Smoke and mirrors” by Lee Ritenour (Herbie Hancock, Richard Bona), with whom he also starred in the Cape Town Jazz Festival. Erik was also a lead player in the well-known Johannesburg based “Themba Mkhize big band orchestra”.

In 2013 Erik came out with his solo Album “Chitukutuku” (SAMA South African Music Awards nominated), demonstrating his unique arrangement and production skills, with an organic fusion between articulated Jazz and authentic African music originating from traditional standards he knew since he was a child in Malawi.
