On Friday, 17.8 pm, we will host Dr. Ziv Helman at the “think & drink” meetings at Voodoo Bar for a lecture on the relationship between game theory and dating.
Is there a mathematical algorithm that can ensure the creation of stable matchmaking? When do you stop looking and begin to devote yourself to one person only? And what can you learn about dating from game theory?
“We’ve passed the game stage” is one of the most banal lines in the dating world. In a world of virtual connections with an endless reservoir of possibilities, is there a formula that will advise us who to choose and who is right for us? Is there ever a reasonable balance between men and women in a boundless dating world or are we ever to experience tension between the sexes?
Dr. Ziv Helman is a lecturer in the Department of Economics at Bar-Ilan University, and has published articles in the scientific literature on computer science, coalitions in the Knesset, and Sex Without Regrets: The Benefits of Sexual Reproduction.

“עברנו את שלב המשחקים” היא אחת השורות הנדושות ביותר בעולם הדייטים. בעולם של קשרים וירטואליים עם מאגר אפשרויות שנראה בלתי-נדלה, האם יש נוסחה שתייעץ לנו את מי לבחור ומי מתאים לנו? האם ייתכן אי פעם שיווי-משקל סביר בין נשים וגברים בעולם דייטים חסר גבולות או שנגזר עלינו לעולם לחוות מתח בין המינים?
ד”ר זיו הלמן הוא דוקטור למתמטיקה ומרצה בחוג לכלכלה באוניברסיטת בר-אילן. לצד התמחותו בתורת המשחקים פרסם גם מאמרים בספרות המדעית על מדעי המחשב, הרכבת קואליציות בכנסת, ו”סקס ללא חרטות: על היתרונות של הרבייה המינית”.
