This week we pay tribute to one of Jamaica’s greatest musicians, “Family Man”.
Family Man passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 77 and left behind a legacy of hundreds of iconic basslines who played in the productions of great reggae artists including Bob
Marley, Dennis Brown, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs in the productions of the great producers including Lee Perry, Bonnie Lee, Love You, Naini and more.
Family Man, along with his brother Carly are responsible more than anyone else for the transition of Jamaican music from the rock steady era of the late 1960s to the reggae of the 1970s and the development of the roots style.
In addition to being a gifted bassist, Family Man also played the organ and guitar.
This Tuesday we will meet for a 4 hour session with the basslines and vibe of Family Man and we will give him the respect he deserves.
First tune at 19:00.

השבוע נחלוק כבוד לאחד המוזיקאים הגדולים של ג’מייקה, אסטון “פאמילי מאן” בארט.
פאמילי מאן הלך לעולמו לפני מספר שבועות בגיל 77 והשאיר אחריו מורשת של מאות בייסליינים איקוננים שניגן בהפקות של גדולי אומני הרגאיי בינהם בוב
מארלי, דניס בראון, ברנינג ספיר, גרגורי אייזיקס בהפקות של גדולי המפיקים בינהם לי פרי, בוני לי, יאבבי יו, נייני ועוד ועוד.
פאמילי מאן, יחד עם אחיו קארלי אחריאים יותר מכל אחד אחר למעבר של המוזיקה הג’מייקנית מתקופת הרוק סטדי בסוף שנות ה-60 לרגאיי של שנות ה-70 ולהתפתחות סגנון הרוטס.
בנוסף להיותו בסיסט מחונן פאמילי מאן ניגן גם באורגן וגיטרה.
ביום שלישי הקרוב נפגש לסשן של 4 שעות עם הבייסליינים והוייב של פאמילי מאן ונחלוק לו את הכבוד שמגיע לו.
