The Suzanne Dellal Centre and the Docaviv Festival are proud to present: a festive outdoor screening of the film “Dancing Pina”!

About the movie “Dancing the Pina”:
Almost 50 years have passed since Pina Bausch created the choreography for two of her greatest works, but when they are rediscovered by groups of young people in different parts of the world, they take on a new life, and also bring about a profound change in dancers. In Dresden, Germany, a ballet company is rehearsing the dance opera “Iphigenia Batauris”, and in Dakar, Senegal, young people from all over Africa are dancing the “Rite of Spring”.

Little by little the classical ballet, tribal dances, street art and the personal physical expression of each dancer are mixed with each other in the rehearsal hall, on the beach, in surprising landscapes. The groundbreaking works receive a new interpretation, charged with no less passion than that which Osh herself brought to the stage.

The event is being held with the generous support of the Nordrhein-Westfalen District Office in Israel, and with the support of the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa
