“Everything starts in an interesting way”
We invite you to get to know Damian Tabak through his art in a one-time exhibition in his memory, which will present part of his unique body of work. Damien’s talent was expressed in every media and material he chose to touch and sign.
The surreal world that Damien created breathed life into mechanical and robotic characters, painted in the representative palette of red-and-white. Alongside the abstract works, there was often an element of personification and movement. The characters that Damian created are broken and rebuilt in front of us viewers. Sometimes they fly in the air, sometimes they fall apart and sometimes they are locked in delicate glass cages. One of Damian’s hallmarks was “Sid”, the special character that followed him everywhere he went. Graffiti and street art, prints, drawings, video editing, oil and water paintings, 3D works, creating an application and a computer game, all tools in the hand of the creator.
Damian fought cancer for 5 years and was part of the Halasartan community. He died on 8.4.22. And yet, continues to accompany us when we walk through the streets of the city. “הכל מתחיל מצורה מעניינת”
אנחנו מזמינים אתכם.ן להכיר את דמיאן טבק דרך האמנות שלו בתערוכה חד פעמית לזכרו, שתציג חלק מגוף העבודות הייחודי שלו. הכישרון של דמיאן התבטא בכל מדיה וחומר שבחר לגעת ולחתום עליו.
העולם הסוריאליסטי שדמיאן יצר הפיח רוח חיים בדמויות מכאניות ורובוטיות, צבועות בפלטה המייצגת של אדום-ולבן. לצד היצירות המופשטות, לרוב היה אלמנט של האנשה ותנועה. הדמויות שדמיאן יצר נשברות ונבנות מחדש מולנו הצופים. לפעמים עפות באוויר, לפעמים מתפרקות ולעיתים כלואות בכלובי זכוכית עדינים. אחד מסימני ההיכר של דמיאן היה “סיד”, הדמות המיוחדת שעקבה אחריו לכל מקום שהלך. גרפיטי ואמנות רחוב, הדפסים, שרטוטים, עריכות וידאו, ציורי שמן ומים, עבודות תל-מימד, יצירת אפליקציה ומשחק מחשב, הכל כלי ביד היוצר.
דמיאן נלחם במחלת הסרטן במשך 5 שנים והיה חלק מקהילת חלאסרטן. הוא נפטר בתאריך ה-8.4.22. ועדיין, ממשיך ללוות אותנו כשאנחנו הולכים בין רחובות העיר. כשתסיימו כאן ותצאו חזרה לנחלה, פנו שמאלה ואז פניה שניה ימינה, לרחוב רמב”ם 16. סיד מחכה לכם.ן.
