A series of symbolic scenes and images, combined with poetry, music and visual art, to explore the life of the Armenian poet Sayat-Nova and resurrect the splendor of medieval Armenian culture.
Using spectacular colorful images and a non-linear narrative, Prajanov invites a deep reflection on art and beauty, in a brave film that went beyond the rigid line of Soviet realism. All these make “The Color of Pomegranates” a milestone in world cinema and a symbol of the triumph of artistic freedom.
