Behavioral economics is a field that grew out of the connection between psychology and classical economics, and focuses on the psychological factors that influence the way people make decisions. In the lecture, Dr. Hochman explains the rules of thumb that people use when making decisions, and demonstrates that although these shortcuts are very quick and effective in everyday life, in some cases they may lead to systematic errors known as biases. During the lecture, Dr. Hochman explains how to create an environment which encourages smarter decisions and demonstrates how to motivate people and influence their behavior using the behavioral economist’s toolkit.

כלכלה התנהגותית היא תחום שצמח מהחיבור בין הפסיכולוגיה לכלכלה הקלאסית, ומתמקד בגורמים הפסיכולוגיים המשפיעים על האופן בו אנשים מקבלים החלטות. בהרצאה, מסביר ד”ר הוכמן מהם כללי האצבע בהם אנשים משתמשים בבואם לקבל החלטות, ומדגים כי למרות שקיצורי דרך אלה מהירים מאוד ויעילים בחיי היומיום, במקרים מסוימים הם עלולים להוביל לטעויות שיטתיות המכונות הטיות. במהלך ההרצאה, ד”ר הוכמן מסביר כיצד יוצרים סביבה המעודדת החלטות חכמות יותר ומדגים כיצד ניתן להניע אנשים ולהשפיע על ההתנהגות שלהם באמצעות סט הכלים של הכלכלן ההתנהגותי.
***אודות המרצה***
ד”ר גיא הוכמן, מומחה לקבלת החלטות, מרצה בכיר בבית הספר לפסיכולוגיה באוניברסיטת רייכמן. ד”ר הוכמן הוא ראש התכנית לתואר שני בכלכלה התנהגותית, מייעץ לחברות הזנק ומשרדי ממשלה. הוא כתב עשרות מאמרים מדעיים, והוזמן להתראיין כפרשן להתנהגות צרכנים במספר תכניות טלוויזיה, רדיו ועיתונות.
