Nearly one year in the making, our passion reissue project is finally seeing the light of day. This reggae/dub holy grail will be available exclusively before the worldwide release on November 28 at Nuweiba.
Over the years, this record has been a secret weapon and sought after album laying only in record bags of the ones who truly know it, that of course in case they managed to find a copy of this rare gem.
When it came out in 1986 Avi Matos’ album “Lokeach Et Hayom Le’at (taking the day slowly) was the first ever reggae and dub album to be made in Israel. Needless to say it was way ahead of its time. Back then, the production has been a milestone and brought together some of Israel’s best musicians at
the time. Something in the way this album sounds succeeds to convey a blissful combination of roots and dubby sounds with an Israeli whiff. Imagine a hazy sunset under palm trees, bass and a tropical weather. Paradise!
Avi didn’t realise back then that his creation he had came up with in 1986 would only find the recognition it deserved years later. Life has swung full circle when this became a hard to find and very sought after record some 30 years later.
