Special event of the M.ART Festival

Running time: 90min

Playwright, director and art director: Rezo Gabriadze
Animators: Niko Gelovani, Tamar Amirajibi, Giorgi Giorgobiani, Irakli Sharashidze, Anna Nizharadze, Tamar Kobakhidze

The Autumn of My Springtime was produced in cooperation with the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne

The Autumn of My Spring is a story about Boria Gadai, a small bird with a big heart that takes place in Kutaisi after World War II. Rezo Gabriadze describes it as a song about his grandmother and memories of the deserted and impoverished city. “There was a desire to live and to love – the difference, in my opinion, between the difficult times then and the difficult times today”. An enchanting mixture of masterful puppetry, Georgian dance and folk songs takes viewers on a journey through dreams, despair, anger and joy.

“Gabriadze himself is a Georgian national treasure”. The New York Times

“In the old part of Tbilisi is located a very small marionette theatre. There, you will meet marionettes which like angels descend from heaven and which like demons emerge from the bowels of the earth, to tell several dozen viewers their amazing stories”. 24 heures
