Lectures, stalls, and a political panel led by journalist Aviv Lavie, with the participation of representatives of political parties from across the political spectrum.

The public interest in animals in Israel is enormous. Animal lovers come from all walks of life, and are characterized by a high level of commitment and political involvement. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis follow, participate in the activities of the organizations, and respond regularly to our calls for action.

Elected officials are expected to promote the protection of animals as part of an agenda of justice and moral progress. Compassion for animals is anchored in religious traditions. The main issues in the field are often integrated with the desire to promote public health and the environment.

Despite the high public awareness, the situation of animals in Israel is still very difficult, and many challenges lie ahead for the next Knesset to promote significant steps to improve the situation.

In preparation for the 2019 elections, animal lovers are organizing to put the issue on the political agenda.
This is a significant issue for many in the Israeli public. The rate of vegetarians and vegans in Israel is rising, and recently one of every 18 soldiers has been found to be vegan. More than a quarter of the households in Israel include a domestic animal. A survey found that 55.2% of the public tried to avoid products that would cause harm to animals.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2019
