This week we anchor in Yemen with the band that founded Yemeni punk>>
Bint el Funk
The group started with the purity of the modern adaptations of traditional Yemeni songs, but soon they also added to the cauldron original materials and little by little a unique, versatile and yet cohesive style is created. The style of bint al-funk mainly based on the combination of punk with traditional Yemeni music, but influenced by many styles like Afro-beat, Mediterranean music, jazz and Turkish psychedelic rock(!).
Along with the Yemeni texts, love songs, political protest songs, Bedouin nonsense and poets’ songs are also interspersed.
Each performance quickly turns into a tribal native party with sounds, rhythms, colors and smells that come together on the axis that connects Sana’a, Harlem and the Sha’arieh neighborhood in Petah Tikva. Bint El Funk’s work combines old and new, local and universal, East and West and tells through their personal story the story of every person in the world.
We have selected for you unique music fragrances from around the world, when they will all appear with the one-time setting of the Jaffa port and will be held at our northern pier

אנחנו גאים להציג בפניכם את שיט התענוגות המוזיקלי שעוגן בבמה של נמל יפו.
יחד נטעם מקומות נסתרים; בלקני, לטיני, אתיופי, טורקי ועוד!
השבוע אנחנו עוגנים בתימן עם ההרכב שייסד את הפאנק התימני>>
בינת אל פאנק🎷
ההרכב התחיל על טהרת העיבודים המודרנים לשירי מסורת תימניים, אך במהרה נוספו לקדירה גם
חומרים מקוריים ולאט לאט נוצר סגנון ייחודי, רבגוני ועם זאת מגובש. הסגנון של בינת אל פ’אנק
מבוסס בעיקר על השילוב של פאנק עם מוסיקה תימנית מסורתית, אך מושפע מסגנונות רבים
כמו אפרו-ביט, מוסיקה ים-תיכונית, ג’אז ורוק פסיכדלי-תורכי(!).
לצד הטקסטים התימנים משובצים גם שירי אהבה,שירי מחאה פוליטית, נונסנס בדואי ושירי משוררים.
כל הופעה נהפכת במהרה למסיבת ילידים שיבטית עם צלילים, מקצבים, צבעים וריחות שמתאחדים על הציר שמחבר בין צנעא, הארלם ושכונת שערייה שבפתח תקווה. היצירה של בינת אל פאנק משלבת ישן וחדש, לוקאלי ואוניברסלי, מזרח ומערב ומספרת דרך הסיפור האישי שלהם גם את סיפורו של כל אדם בעולם.
