The Night of Philosophy in Israel is back on June 10, 2021 – ONLINE WITH FREE ACCESS – starting from 4pm (Israel Time, UTC +3).
Created in 2015 by the French Institute in Israel, the Night of Philosophy has grown into becoming one of the major cultural events in Israel. Over years, it has extended partnerships with the Goethe-Institut Israel, the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv and the Austrian Cultural Forum, therefore turning into a very unique international platform of dialogue and exchange between European and Israeli philosophers and intellectuals, together with the Israeli public, on various topics of contemporary relevance.
This year, the online format of the Night of Philosophy in Israel will address the complex and challenging issue of “The Future of Democracy” through 25 lectures, discussions and panels with renowned scholars and intellectuals. In the spirit of its previous editions, the Night of Philosophy 2021 will enable a live dialogue between the speakers and the public via a chat service designed for this purpose.

לילה של פילוסופיה ביוזמת המכון הצרפתי בישראל יתקיים זו הפעם השישית, והשנה באופן מקוון.
באירוע ישתתפו פילוסופים ואנשי רוח מישראל, צרפת, גרמניה, פולין ואוסטריה בשת”פ עם מכון גתה ישראל, המכון הפולני בישראל ופורום התרבות האוסטרי.
כן יתקיימו פאנלים, הרצאות, מפגשים ספרותיים ומוסיקליים ודיג’י סט בשילוב וידיאו-ארט…
האירוע ייפתח בשעה 16:00 בלייב בפייסבוק ובזום עם הרצאה של הסופרת הלן סיקסו (Hélène Cixous) ולאחר מכן רפאל זגורי-אורלי, אוצר לילה של פילוסופיה.
בשעה 19:30 יתקיים מושב כבוד בו יקח חלק פרופ’ רוברט בדינטר (Robert Badinter), משפטן, שר המשפטים הצרפתי לשעבר, נשיא לשעבר של המועצה לחוקה בצרפת, אשר נודע בין היתר בשל חלקו המרכזי בהחלטה להוציא את עונש המוות בצרפת מחוץ לחוק.

Evénement phare et récurrent organisé par l’Institut français d’Israël (IFI), en partenariat avec le Goethe-Institut Israel, le Polish Institut in Tel Aviv et l’Austrian Cultural Forum.
En guise de préouverture, Hélène Cixous, l’une des plus importantes écrivaines françaises, poète, dramaturge et angliciste, connue pour son engagement dans divers mouvements du féminisme, pré-ouvrira l’événement à 16h00 (heure d’Israël, 15h00 – heure française) avec une séquence diffusée conjointement en live sur Facebook et via ZOOM, présentée par Raphael Zagury-Orly. A 19h30 (heure d’Israël, 18h00 – heure française), l’invité d’honneur de cette 6e édition de la Nuit de la Philosophie en Israël, M. Robert Badinter, ancien ministre de la justice en France, ancien président du Conseil Constitutionnel, à l’initiative de l’abolition de la peine de mort en France, interviendra dans le cadre de la séance inaugurale de l’événement.
